I need help researching my birth family Coutts

Hello all,

I was adopted at birth 10/29/1960.  My birth mother named me Shona Mai Coutts.  She was 21 when she had me and was all alone in the U.S.  She came from Scotland when she was 19.  I recently recieved non-identifying information about her family.  The problem is, I dont have any names (other than Coutts) only birthdates.

I have know idea where to start.  I hope someone can steer me in the right direction.

This is what I know:

She left scotland at 19 (1958).  She was sponsered by a family in Delaware county PA where she worked as a mothers helper until my birth. All birthdates are estimated.  She would be born 1938-1940.  At time of my birth she had 4 sisters. Birthdates 1936, 1937, and twins 1945. 

Maternal grandfather 1910 that was employed repairing airplane engines.  His mother died at age 64 from unknown causes.  His father died at age 65 and had worked in the mines and died of congestion of the lungs

Maternal grandmother 1915 was a housewife.  her mother died at age 65 from a blood clot.  Her father was still alive in 1960 and was 78 yrs old and had been employed as a fireman, I estamate his birth 1882

 Like I said this is my estimates.  It could be a year either way.

I also know she had an uncle that lived in Detroit MI that was widowed.  She told social worker she may go there to live with him after I was born.

Her religion was presbyterian. 

If anyone could give me any ideas on how to start, it would be greatly appriciated.

My grandparents and father lived in Detroit. But none of them came directly from Scotland to the US.  My paternal grandfather immigrated to the US from Ontario Canada.
