- My g.g,g, grandmothers name was Janet Coutts and she married an Andrew Brand. They married 21/01/1818 in Tulliallan but I don't know who her parents were.

Hi Jane..
There is a distinct possibility that there is a connection with Robert Ingersoll Hunter. My grandfather John Lionel Hunter was born in Fremantle in 1908 to John Cameron Hunter and Edith Sarah Barker.
John Cameron Hunters parents were James Hunter and Louisa Goodrich. James was born in Antrim County Northern Ireland.
I am still in the middle of going through the Hunter side, The Coutts side of the family comes from my Fathers mother, Gwenyth Lucy Rinder. The Hunter side is obviously Dad's dad.
Will let you know as my search progress. As we both have Coutts / Hunter connection there is a distinct possibility we are connected via that link somewhere.
