- What is your Coutts connection?
- My great-great-grandfather. James Fothringham, married Marion the Scrymsoure heiress of Tealing, in Angus. Her mother was Isabella Coutts, dau of James Coutts, 2nd of Hallgreen. We have his genealogical tree among the family papers, showing descent back to the Coutts of Auchtercoul family.
- What is your particularly research interest or area?
- All of the above-mentioned line and their siblings, etc. We also have books with bookplate of Hercules Coutts, who was a many-greats uncle, I think, c.1700, but I know little about him.
Also Alexander Coutts who was Usher of the White Rod
